Sample Edits
Samples are offered free of charge and without any obligation to enlist my services. They range from 1500 to 2000 words to determine if the manuscript is ready for your desired level of editing and if we’re well-matched. Samples will be provided as long as they do not interfere with ongoing paid client projects. To schedule your sample, please contact me.
Booking Deposit
A $150 deposit is due at the time of booking to secure your requested date. This will be deducted from the final total. The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is canceled a minimum of three weeks before the start date.
No booking fee will be charged if work is to commence immediately. Instead, a percentage of the total will be due by the agreed start date.
Payments
An agreed percentage of the total fee (minus any deposit) is required before the agreed start date. Commencement of work is contingent upon receipt of this payment. Payment delays may lead to a corresponding delay in editing and could incur a re-booking fee of 25% should rescheduling be required to accommodate other clients.
All payments must be paid in full by an agreed date prior to receiving the final edited manuscript.
Projects less than $500 will be invoiced at a one-time payment of the total cost (minus any deposit), due by the agreed start date.
Additional Rounds
Additional rounds added at the time of booking will be included in the total cost. Additional rounds may be requested up to six months after a service package is completed and are subject to availability.
They are only available for copy editing and proofreading packages.
Additional rounds are billed at 50% of the original total price of a service package and are only for manuscripts previously edited by L. Simpson Editing.
If booked after service package completion, full payment is required prior to the start date.
